we are new but should be able to make small text work by now. we see other embroidery walking around on consumers.Is there any one out there who will disciple me with this software? is there further education after basic training?

there are severall trainers that can offer video, group or on line training. Also you can post examples of what you are shooting for on the yahoo SE groups.
