If you´re thinking about adding the Direct Connect module to interface directly with your Toyota or SWF machine, your Stitch Era software can already do this on design transfers of up to 1,000 stitches. It´s a good way to test if it works on your setup before purchasing the full Direct Connect module that removes the 1K stitch limit.

Requirements: serial COM port on your computer, plus serial null modem cable with 9-pin female connector on both ends like the ones seen here:
http://store.a2zcable.com/senuca9to9.html

(keep length of cable to 10 or 15 feet, as a longer serial cable may act like an antenna, and your design data might get corrupted, ie. inaccurate trace, wrong stitch count, pantograph shifts, etc)

Although these articles have been written for our commercial software, the interface is the same, so the instructions should work as long as you replace any EO reference for SE or Stitch Era, for example Embroidery Explorer is Stitch Era Explorer, etc.
