Hi i have recently started using your programme and i am struggling to open up designs every time i click on a design i get an access violiation code. The first week of using this i did not have this problem, then all of a sudden i have been blocked from opening up any of my designs. i only have this problem on the one computer and not the other. T he other thing is it as changed all the colours of the designs which is a pain at trying to sort out the colour codes again, and it has also combined blocks which i can´t seem to separate. thanks Heather

Hi Heather - It occurred to me that perhaps you haven´t upgraded your software to v9.20? And if that´s not the case, you then have to determine if the file you´re trying to open is corrupted (i.e. can´t be read by either installation of Stitch Era) or if its the program that´s having a problem. I have Stitch Era installed on one desktop machine running Vista and one laptop machine running XP and the software behaves a little differently on each machine. Perhaps a re-install of the software is the next step (though I´d check with Tech Support to see how to do it, just in case). Lynne

Hi Heather - I´m going to make the assumption that you were working on different designs on your two computers and that the two sets of designs were stored on their respective computers. If you copy the "bad" designs (i.e. the ones causing an access violation) onto, say, a USB flash drive and transfer them to the other machine, can your version of Stitch Era on that machine read them? Heather, are you opening your designs via database or from the File-Open menu? What you may want to try is, locate the design on your hard drive, ie. via Windows Explorer or My Computer, then click and drag it into the Stitch Era window. This way we can narrow it down to the database, to the input/output routine or to the actual design file.

Of course, if you´re opening them from the database, make sure the drive is accessible. If you saved a design to the database while it was on a flash drive, it won´t work if you try to pull it up and the flash drive is not present at the time.
