I am posting these bugs to the forums because Sierra support tells me they won´t assist me in fixing problems related to their bugs unless I pay for a support plan.

Issue: Calculate best route is inefficient at best, and buggy, placing stones on top of each other and outside of the boundaries.

Machine used: Outputting to a CAMS machine

Here are screenshots of the rhinestone pattern and the configuration of the output to the machine, showing Calculate Best Route was chosen:

Detailed issues:
1. It always places one stone to the very top right, outside the boundaries of the machine platen, even though there´s no stone in the design there

2. It places one stone on top of another, even though there are no overlaps. (the last stone is always placed on top of the first stone).

3. The two stones mentioned above are taken from stones that are supposed to be placed, so we end up with two stones that aren´t placed in the right place.

4. In real-world production, we have noticed that the "best route" is far from it, with the x/y moving all over the place during a run, instead of doing groups of stones then moving on, like it does in v11.41. It´s hard to tell that it´s not efficient in this video since it´s a small design, but in reality, designs are taking 10-25% longer to run than in 11.41.

Hopefully Sierra will get this bug report and issue a fix soon.
For now we will reinstall 11.41 on the production PC since we can´t afford to spend 10-25% longer running designs. Thank you.

Here is another video showing the printing of a simple baseball. V 11.41 calculates the route very efficiently, and the machine never skips around to stones that are not near the area it´s currently working in.

v15, on the other hand, skips around and doesn´t place them in an efficient route. This is what contributes to the increase in production costs related to time spent running rhinestones.
